Telfords Yatala, Tilt-Panel Joint Sealing
Over 140 m of expansion joints on a boundary elevation with no EWP or scaffold access, rigged off the internal roof structure to protect a practical-completion deadline.
The brief.
Over 140 m of expansion joints on a boundary elevation with no EWP or scaffold access, rigged off the internal roof structure to protect a practical-completion deadline.
Telfords were building a new industrial shed in Yatala and had a poor past experience installing anchor plates into roof sheeting, which they wanted to avoid. We did a site visit and a risk assessment of the internal roof structure and were able to rig off it to complete the expansion joints in the precast tilt panels on the elevation abutting the neighbour's property.
There was no way to reach that elevation with a fire ladder, EWP or scaffold, and they were in a rush. We visited and quoted on the Wednesday and had four people on site by the Friday to protect their practical completion timeline. We installed over 140 m of expansion joints using the Bostik system, including backing rod, priming and sealing.
The work up close.
