Three oversized glazing panels replaced in a single day by rope access and advanced rigging, at about half the cost of crane access and six weeks sooner.
Defective glazing needed replacing, but the panels were too large for the lifts and crane access was six weeks away.
We used advanced rigging and rope access to remove and replace the oversized panels at height. An Actsafe winch handled the hauling, with edge rollers, surface protection and tension lines guarding the building's finishes. New panels went in with an Octopus vacuum glass lifter, and the defective panels were boxed before descent so nothing could break on the way down.
Three panels were removed and replaced in a single day, at roughly half the cost of crane access and without waiting six weeks for the crane.
