Project overview

The brief.

Independent AAMA 501.2 water testing after cyclone-driven rain, giving the project team hard evidence instead of guesswork about the window systems.

After severe weather and cyclone-driven rain, water ingress reports were coming in from across the building. With real uncertainty about where the leaks were coming from, the project team needed a reliable way to tell whether the installed window systems were part of the problem before committing to expensive rectification.

Working alongside the builder and their façade contractor, we carried out targeted façade investigations and AAMA 501.2 water penetration testing on the nominated window systems, with controlled testing, detailed observations and clear reporting.

The controlled testing showed no water ingress through the nominated window systems during the assessment. That gave the team evidence to narrow the investigation, avoid misdirected repairs, and focus effort where it was most likely to add value.
