We were engaged by Structural Diagnostics, who were project managing a repaint of the building, to complete a façade inspection. On large paint and remedial projects the quantity of defects is one of the things most likely to blow out, so understanding it up front lets the committee make informed decisions and prioritise, rather than discovering surprises mid-project and holding up the contractor.
Being a third party also meant we could give an unbiased account of what we found. Between the size of the building, the rigging complexity and weather delays, the inspection ran over a month, and we identified more than 2,000 defects. That gave everyone meaningful data to quote and plan the painting works around.
