Replacing awkward penthouse-only access with walkways, ladders and static lines, cutting ongoing maintenance cost and improving safety.
Miami Ice already had a height safety system to abseil most of the façade, but it needed ongoing access through the penthouse, wasn't designed for regular use, and repeated foot traffic was damaging the roof sheeting. It was cumbersome to work with.
We installed walkways, fixed and portable ladders and static lines to give safer, more practical access. All the materials had to be hauled up the side of the building because they wouldn't fit in the lift. The result is a well-designed system that gives better, safer access and reduces the ongoing cost of maintaining the façade.
