The brief.
A feature column fully refurbished from the façade in Brisbane's CBD, with no scaffold or road closures, and rope access supporting multiple trades out of hours.
A commercial refurbishment in Brisbane's CBD needed a feature column completely replaced, including stripping the existing tiles, cladding and subframe. Traditional access would have meant significant temporary works and real disruption to pedestrians, businesses and building operations.
We developed a rope access solution that let the whole job run off the façade. Our team removed and reinstated the cladding system and provided access support and material handling for the tiling contractor, working outside normal operating hours with a detailed rescue plan for our people and the trade.
The column was refurbished with no scaffold, no road closures and minimal disruption. One access methodology carried multiple trades, so the builder got the architectural finish without losing momentum in a busy CBD.
The work up close.
