Over 500 metres of façade expansion joints installed before practical completion on a building with no permanent access, eliminating water ingress with no scaffold or crane.
Critical expansion joints had never been installed across the façade, and the result was widespread water ingress. With no permanent access system in place and multiple trades working across the site, the builder needed the joints done safely without denting the construction programme.
We rigged temporary rope access using engineered parapet clamps and temporary anchors to reach the entire façade. Over 500 metres of expansion joints were cleaned, primed, backer-rodded and sealed with a long-life hourglass profile, and we completed precast panel repairs concurrently as we went.
The water ingress pathways were eliminated across the façade, with no scaffold, no crane and no disruption to the other trades on site.
