Colour-matching and replacing three cracked panels on an unspecified glass façade, with the lift company engaged to get the glass up top.
Allegra is a 14-storey building in the heart of Southport, with three cracked panels on the eastern elevation. The tricky part was matching the glass colour: the building had no specifications, and all anyone knew was that it was made in China.
We worked with our supplier, National Glass, whose rep came to site, tested the glass and made up samples so the client could pick the closest match. The panels wouldn't fit in the lift, so we engaged the lift company to carry them up on top of the car. We changed out all three panels and they look excellent. With no one home during the change-out, our internal glaziers worked from portable door anchors so they were harnessed the whole time.
